Head of User Experience at Obrizum Group - Software As A Service (SaaS), AI Adaptive Learning Platform

I joined Obrizum Group as Head of User Experience with the brief to improve and modernise their adaptive learning platform and build a user experience team. I led the design of their cross platform compatible next generation AI adaptive learning platform to improve usability, accessibility, scaleability and facilitate future feature and functionality development.

Working at Obrizum was like having a refresher course in startup organisations. After having spent the last 13 years working full time in the corporate, enterprise world of Microsoft and Skype, it made a nice change to work somewhere smaller with limited resources.

Figma prototypes to help describe features and functionality to engineers and PM.

  • Worked closely with the CVP and product team to set the tone and define the future vision and product roadmap.

  • Designed a Meta Quest VR experience of the product to complement customer offerings.

  • UX & UI design of ‘white label’ v1.0 super efficient, accessible, cross platform, responsive (mobile and web) design system to accommodate new features and functionally.

  • Used Figma to design and communicate new features and functionality, create user journeys, wireframes, high fidelity designs and prototypes.

  • Creation of a design system and pattern libraries to accelerate ideation and improve development time, consistency and scalability.

  • Created storytelling materials for board reviews, sales pitches and presentations.

  • Ideated with PM to generate persona’s and map out user journeys to inform design direction.

  • Ensured interaction patterns, new features and functionality were compatible with legacy versions of the product and could be administered via a proprietary CMS.

  • Collaborated with stakeholders, founders, engineering, product management, implementation specialists, customer success and customers to understand their behaviour and their needs.

  • Used insights, user research and customer feedback to create product design goals and priorities used to communicate and influence investors and key stake holders.

  • Recruited our first product designer to the UX team.

  • Our hard work paid off and the team were able to secure their next round of investment funding.
