Hello 👋,
I’m a hands on, data and insight driven product design director (and photographer) experienced leading and directing design for hardware, software and AI interactions across multiple end points and hardware devices.
I help startups and established businesses by collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams to identify opportunities for growth and bring those ideas to life through engaging user experiences for commercial and strategic impact. I am an empathetic design leader and I support design teams by modelling, coaching and caring for them as individuals and designers.
I’m adaptable and I enjoy, and encourage collaboration across disciplines and organisations. I hope people see me as an inspirational thought leader and I work hard to learn and improve from my mistakes and feedback from colleagues. Having the skills to prioritise and manage my own time is important to me, and I like to collaborate with colleagues, designers, product managers and engineers to understand the business goals and create the vision and road map to achieve this. Prioritisation is also important to reduce the risk of burnout and maintain a healthy work life balance for myself and the teams I work with.
I strive to create inclusive and diverse work environments, being mindful and empathetic, ensuring all voices and perspectives are heard. I want people to feel comfortable and supported so they can do their best work.
I really enjoyed being part of a smaller AI startup recently. Creating storytelling materials to communicate their vision and building a new version of their product was exciting and challenging. Working with proprietary CMS systems and cutting edge machine learning to solve complex jobs to be done was very rewarding and should see them through to the next round of funding and expansion.
While I’m not working I enjoy learning new tech. I’m currently going deep on my photography, with trips away from my desk, using AI tools such as Imagen and Aftershoot to help process my images, as well as Adobes AI features, attending workshops and making photo walk videos to publish on my site. I worked with AI for a many years while at Microsoft, with Cortana, bots and agents and more recently at Obrizum and their AI Adaptive Learning Platform and there is always something new to learn.
You can find work samples and things I do for fun here on my site.
I'm available for work at the moment and would love to hear about potential roles and opportunities, let me know your requirements and get in touch.
Best
Keith
